Stinking Water plume agate cab ~
Offered here is a unique cabochon of white plume agate, from Stinking Water Pass, Oregon. This old stock material seems to be getting harder to come by all the time, particularly in this above average calibre. I often make these into doublets, adding a thin black basenite backing for contrast, but this stone didn't need that at all. It has a fascinating flowery pattern of ornate plumes in snow white, suspended in a translucent agate background. The stone has a nicely rounded dome of 6.5mm, a plump designer drop shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
