Lake Superior agate cab ~
Offered here is an unusual cabochon of Minnesota's State Gem, Lake Superior agate. This highly collectible agate sure cuts a stupendous stone! This particular example has strongly saturated carnelian orange color, showing the wonderful banding so typical of prize lakers. Nicely translucent, there are some cornflake inclusions present, much like some carnelian found in Washington & Oregon locales. The stone has a well rounded dome of 5mm, a designer teardrop shape, and a terrific glassy polish both front and back.
