Dinosaur bone cab ~
Offered here is a gorgeous cabochon of fossilized dinosaur bone, from Utah. This highly silicated material is many millions of years old, and it is a marvelous example of the natural preservation of our earth's ancient, extinct 'thunder lizards'. The cells in this fossil bone have been completely replaced with bright red to crimson agate, framed with ochre webbing. Amazing to see the actual cells of such ancient bone so perfectly preserved, isn't it? Many show subtle fortification bands, like tiny translucent agate nodules or thundereggs. This is an example of top notch collectible gem bone, straight from my own personal stash. The cab has a well rounded dome of 4.5mm, a graceful designer shape, brightly polished both front and back.
