Chopstick agate cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of chopstick agate, from China's Gobi desert. This fascinating lattice agate material is one we snagged at last year's Tucson show, providing plenty of fun. This example is jam-packed with stick figures in pastels of mauve against white to gray going every which way, creating a lattice pattern that very much resembles hoarfrost. Character to spare! I think this new agate will make excellent jewelry, and hope you'll be encouraged to find out. The stone has a high rounded dome of 6mm, a plump designer 'flame' shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
