Offered here is a cabochon of Deschutes jasper, from Oregon. A treasured favorite in the celebrated family of porcelain jaspers, classic old material like this has become quite collectible and pricey these days, when one can find any to buy. This delightful example is of the opalized variety, and features a scenic hilly pattern in richly contrasting earth tones of peachy tans and reddish browns. There's a nice showing of tiny black dendrites, too. The cab has a well rounded dome of 6mm, a versatile designer shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
