Turquoise ~
Offered here is a cabochon of spiderweb turquoise, from China. This example has lovely blue to greenish-brown coloration, with black spiderwebbing for contrast. This turquoise, more than any other, reminds me of the old Royston material I used way back when in my own jewelry. No doubt this material has been stabilized by some hardening process, as is most modern turquoise, but I don't believe it has been subjected to artificial coloring of any kind. It polished like a dream, and will wear wonderfully, without changing over the years. The cab has a well rounded dome of nearly 5mm, a long designer 'teardrop' shape, and a smooth glossy polish both front and back.
