Fossil coral cab ~
Offered here is a lovely cabochon of fossilized coral, from Indonesia. This fascinating agate material is composed of the highly silicated remains of colonial sea coral, many millions of years old! It has an unmistakeable one-of-a-kind pattern of flower-like starbursts, hence it is sometimes called "flowers of the sea". This example has gorgeous golden ochre coloration, with some more purely agate areas, and an exceptionally well defined pattern. This cab has a high rounded dome of 7mm, a designer 'flame' shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
