Larimar cab ~
Offered here is a LARGE, deluxe cabochon of larimar, a rare blue variety of gem pectolite from the only known source in the Dominican Republic, in the Caribbean. I wish I had purchased a LOT more rough when I had the chance, because the price has certainly climbed steadily over the years. This example has delicious sky blue coloration, extra gemmy, with some darker and more saturated spots, including plenty of silky chatoyance. It is also translucent, as illustrated by the backlit photo. The stone has a generously high rounded dome of 7.5mm, a versatile 'egg' shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
