Tiger iron cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of Australian tigeriron. The tigereye in this striking stone has outstanding golden chatoyance mottled with jet black patches, alternating with many ribbons of dark silvery metallic hematite. In hand, the hematite gleams beautifully, particularly the wider bands, moreso than the photos illustrate. There's also some jasper in deep burgundy to red shades adding a pleasing touch of extra color. This material is exceptionally well silicated so there are no pits present. The stone has a versatile designer shape, and a nicely rounded dome of 6mm, polished both front and back.
