Offered here is a primo cabochon of Biggs jasper, from Oregon. A long time favorite in the celebrated family of porcelain jaspers, this classic material has become quite collectibly rare and spendy these days. This distinguished example has ribbons of rich chocolaty browns against creamy tans. And this prize also has a heaping helping of the much sought after blue and lavender tones. Viewed with a bit of imagination, the pattern is rather scenic, with mountainous hillocks and black dendritic foliage. It has a low rounded dome of 4.5mm, a crisp designer shape, and it has a slick glassy polish both front and back.
