Royal Sahara jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of Royal Sahara jasper, discovered in the form of nodules in the North African Sahara desert. This particular cab of RSJ porcelain jasper looks a lot like Oregon's Biggs jasper. It has very similar patterns and coloration, yet it originated on the other side of the planet. Both jaspers are said to be composed of silicified mud! This stone has rich browns & creamy tan shades, along with some greenish-gray areas, plus a scattering of jet black dendrites. The cab has a well rounded dome of 6mm, a symmetrical drop shape, and a smooth glassy polish both front and back.
Size: 44x33mm
Weight: approximately 77 carats
