Chopstick agate~
Offered here is a cabochon of chopstick agate, from China's Gobi desert. This unusual lattice agate material is brand new to my studio, fresh from this year's Tucson show. This example has yellow and white stick figures going every which way, creating a lattice pattern that resembles hoarfrost. A crackly quartz infill shows in some areas, containing tiny dots & clouds, a white floater, plus a few triangular cores of maroon for extra character. I think this new agate will make great jewelry, and hope you'll be encouraged to find out. The stone has a high rounded dome of 7mm, a versatile chevron shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
