Carnelian cab ~
Offered here is a sweet cabochon of fiery Oregon carnelian, also known as orange chalcedony. It features juicy translucent orange and dark crimson coloration, with an extra nice display of the internal 'cornflakes' so sought after by collectors. I did what I could to capture the beautiful 'flakes inside this stone, but the saturated color tends to wash them out. The backlit picture reveals them quite well, so please be sure to click it up to full size. I think this stone is nicer than these photos show, and believe me, carnelian with these beautiful colors is none too easy to come by these days! The cab has an extra high rounded dome of 7mm, a versatile designer shape, and an excellent glassy polish, slick as can be, both front and back.
