Variscite cab ~
Offered here is a splendid cabochon of spiderwebbed variscite, from Australia. This is a remarkable example of the exciting material from the new dig, about 100 miles from the previous source. Rather pricey per pound but worth it, I think. It features cool pastel greens that remind me of pistachio ice cream (my favorite), with deeper minty green cores. It's a great deal prettier in hand than these photos show, with more saturated green color. There's also plenty of contrasting brown spiderwebbing, adding to the stone's character and value. It's one gorgeous stone! The cab has a well rounded dome of nearly 6mm, a crisp designer shape, and a surprisingly nice polish both front and back.
