Petrified palm root cab ~
Offered here is a trio of matching cabochons of petrified palm root, newly arrived collectible GEM material from Sumatra. This fossil wood is a fascinating piece of the earth's natural history, millions of years old. These examples have an assortment of woody patterns in unusually nice colors, in shades of brown & golden tans with reddish overtones. Nice woodgrain showing, and some eyes too, which are vascular bundles, or so I'm told. I think this pet wood is absolutely gorgeous stuff! The large cab has a well rounded dome of 5mm, while the smaller pair are 4mm in thickness. Each has a crisp shape, and a brilliant polish both front and back.
