Turquoise ~
Offered here is a cabochon of spiderweb turquoise, from China. This example has wonderfully saturated coloration in bright turquoise blue and spring green, set off by the jet black matrix forming the webs. No doubt this material has been stabilized by some hardening process, as is most modern turquoise, but I don't believe it has been subjected to artificial coloring of any kind. It polished like a dream, and will wear wonderfully, without changing over the years. The cab has a low but nicely rounded dome of 4.5mm, a versatile rectangular shape, and a smooth glossy polish both front and back.
