Pigeon blood agate cab ~
Offered here is a splendid cabochon of rare pigeon blood agate, also known as cornelian, from Utah. This gemmy beauty is a real treasure, classically attractive in deep crimson red shades, with a surprisingly translucent agate background. The strongly saturated color of the stone comes from zillions of very tiny dots within the stone, hence the name. This example doesn't have the much sought after "olive" inclusions, but it does have several dark orange dots and mossy blooms. It's quite a unique cab, and I think you'll search a long time to find another near as nice as this one is. It has a high and well rounded dome of 7mm, a designer 'spear' shape, and a brilliantly gleaming polish both front and back.
