Horse Canyon agate~
Offered here is a splendid cabochon of rare Horse Canyon agate, from California. This highly sought after moss agate makes just about everyone's long-time favorite list, but unfortunately it's becoming tougher to find by the day. The area where it once hailed from is now privately owned and closed to hopeful collectors. This classic example has very ornate pattern that's difficult to describe. It's not exactly mossy, but more like a nebulous network of various green shades, leaving windows in the translucent agate that the eye can see down into. There are ghostly fortifications, splashes of yellow, and pools of blue agate too. I left the photos a bit larger to illustrate the awesome nature of this stone, so please be sure to enlarge the pics to enjoy the intriguing details! The stone has a well rounded dome of 5mm, a graceful designer 'flame' shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
