Chopstick agate~
Offered here is a cabochon of chopstick agate, from China's Gobi desert. This fascinating lattice agate material is brand new to my studio, fresh from this year's Tucson show. This example is loaded with stick figures in burnt yellow going every which way, creating a lattice pattern that very much resembles hoarfrost. There's some whitish fill in some areas, tiny dots and little bits of green moss adding extra character. I think this new agate will make excellent jewelry, and hope you'll be encouraged to find out. The stone has a high rounded dome of 6mm, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
