Offered here is a extraordinary collector's cabochon of top quality flowering tube onyx, from Utah. This material is simply stunning in its complex and varied patterns. This example has a wild pattern that includes bullseyes within bullseyes surrounded by bold concentric bandings, with contrast to spare. The orange, yellow and black colors of this type of onyx often remind me of Autumn, but this one has much MUCH more, even some scalloped bands of blue gray and muted green. Absolutely awesome stuff! This screaming cab is sure to attract attention no matter what the season. The stone has a rounded dome of 6mm, a versatile designer shape, and despite a couple tiny voids toward the wide end, it has a slick glossy polish both front and back.
