Larimar cab ~
Offered here is a large, splendid cabochon of larimar, a rare blue variety of gem pectolite from the only known source, the Dominican Republic, in the Caribbean. I wish I had purchased a LOT more rough when I had the chance, because the price has certainly climbed steadily over the years. This example has delicious sky blue coloration, extra gemmy, with some darker and more saturated spots, including lovely pools of silky chatoyance. Some spots of dark host matrix remain on the sides and back, which many settings will easily conceal, if desired. This stone has a high rounded dome of nearly 6.5mm, a versatile shape, and a smooth glassy polish both front and back.
