Botswana agate cab ~
Offered here is a superbly dramatic cabochon of Botswana agate, from Africa. Always a favorite around here, I was delighted to luck into a large cache of top notch slabs and nodules last year, some of the very best I've ever had. This example has the strongly contrasting fortification bandings these agates are so prized for, in the classic purplish brown hues. Reminds me of woodgrain! Add even the simplest of settings, in silver, gold, or even beadwork and you'll have a treasure to be proud of. The cab has a high rounded dome of 6+mm, a curvy designer shape that contains the patter perfectly, and it is polished to a glassy brilliance both front and back.
