Chopstick agate~
Offered here is a cabochon of chopstick agate, from China's Gobi desert. This fascinating lattice agate material is brand new to my studio, fresh from this year's Tucson show. This example is loaded with black stick figures going every which way, creating a strong lattice pattern that very much resembles hoarfrost. They stand out well on a background of palest blue gray agate and quartz. I think this new agate will make excellent jewelry, and hope you'll be encouraged to find out. The stone has a high rounded dome of 6mm, a rounded 'pillow' shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
