Carnelian cab ~
Offered here is an intriguing cabochon of Oregon carnelian cut by Christopher. This stone of his has a few neat cornflake inclusions, but what really caught my eye are the tiny plumes. They remind Rain and I of a bronze statue my Mother once had of a whirling Greek dancer wearing a shawl. Did he see that tiny figure in the stone when he cut it? He won't say... I think the cab is nicer in hand than the enlarged photos show, and it has a pleasantly warm butterscotch coloration. It has a well rounded dome of 5mm, an elongated hexagonal shape, and an excellent glassy polish front and back.
