Turquoise ~
Offered here is a cabochon of spiderwebbed turquoise from China, cut from hand selected rough fresh from this year's Tucson shows. The stone has wonderfully appealing spring green coloration, accented with sky blue edging, with nicely contrasting chocolate and black spiderwebbing. It reminds me a lot of the old Royston turquoise you just can't find anymore, the stuff I chose back in the '70s for my own jewelry. This material has been stabilized by a hardening process, as is most modern turquoise, but it has not been subjected to artificial coloring of any kind. It will wear wonderfully, without darkening or dimming over the years. The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 6mm, a gracefully curved designer shape, and a smooth glossy polish both front and back.
