Chopstick agate~
Offered here is a fascinating cabochon of chopstick agate, from China. It's a prime example of a lattice agate, so called because of the ornate stick-like pattern, which resembles frost. This cab has a jumbled multitude of white sticks against a soft grey background. Between them are a few fortifications, including some that show sparkly quartz cores. The agate is at least partially translucent, adding a nice dimension of depth. I think this new agate ought to make excellent jewelry, and hope you'll be encouraged to find out. The stone has a high rounded dome of 7mm, a designer 'spear' shape, and a great glassy polish both front and back.
Size: 42x34mm
Weight: approximately 72 carats
