Rutilated quartz cab ~
Offered here is a large cabochon of rutilated quartz, from Brazil, some of the best I've ever had to work with. It features beautifully flashy needles of bright golden rutile, some of which show an attractive rusty orange tint when light hits them flat. The quality I like best about this stone is its remarkable depth, created by the layers of rutile, bunched up, single, and one atop the other, criss-crossing every which way. The water clear quartz has only a few veils not easily seen face on, so it really shows off, and even amplifies, this stone's many inclusions. And you should see how dazzling the rutile looks in direct sunlight, just like threads of spun gold! The cab has a beautifully rounded dome of 7+mm, and a crisp designer shape. Despite a couple of small minor voids, it is brilliantly polished both front and back.
