Dinosaur Bone cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of Utah's fossilized dinosaur bone, in a little smaller size. This highly silicated material is many millions of years old, a marvelous example of the natural preservation of our earth's ancient, extinct 'thunder lizards'. The cells in this fossil bone have been completely replaced with red translucent agate, framed by a lattice of very light tan webbing. A couple of the cells show sparkly centers, while most of the others are edged with clear or yellowish agate. The stone has a remarkable degree of translucence and depth, at least to the bottom of the agate pools. This gem bone cab may be small, but it's mighty, a genuine piece of the past! The stone has a high, well rounded dome of nearly 5mm, and a super glassy polish both front and back.
