Mexican lace agate cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon cut from old stock crazy lace agate, from Mexico. This cab has intricate lacy fortification figure down one side, with a larger dogtooth pattern at the other side, separated by highly translucent agate. It's interesting to see that the dogtooth scallops cast shadows into the heart of the stone, adding a dimension of depth. The white pool at the wide end is also translucent, and shows some sparkle beneath its surface. There's a nice mix of colors in shades of dusty rose, pink, peach, cream, gray, and more, and a fancy bullseye too. And the backside is every bit as beautiful as the front. It should be a breeze setting this one to best show it off. The stone has a high rounded dome of 6mm, a designer spear shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
