Ocean jasper cab ~
Offered here is a fancy cabochon of Madagascar's ocean jasper. This striking example has a background dark forest green, overlaid with white fortifications, and an assortment of bullseyes and eyes. There's a neat druzy pocket at one side, toward the pointed end. By my lights, this type of ocean jasper seems to have a rather exotic flavor, and this one certainly has plenty of contrast and character. The stone has a generously high rounded dome of 7mm, a crisp designer shape, and a great glassy polish both front and back.
