Dinosaur bone cab ~
Offered here is cabochon of Utah's fossilized 'spiderweb' GEM dinosaur bone, in a most unusual blond color. This highly silicated material is many millions of years old, a marvelous example of the natural preservation of our earth's ancient, extinct 'thunder lizards'. The cells in this gemmy fossil bone have been completely replaced with translucent agate, leaving only a lattice of golden tan webbing, and a few teeny tiny dendrites. The yellowish sponge-like network of patterns is truly amazing, allowing the eye to see down into the depths of the stone. The stone has a remarkable degree of translucence, as illustrated by the backlit photo. It has a well rounded dome of 5.5mm, a graceful designer 'flame' shape, and a super slick glassy polish both front and back.
