Butterfly wing jasper cab ~
Offered here is an attractive cabochon of butterfly wing jasper, from Mexico. This long time favorite brecciated jasper (technically a rhyolite) is a much sought after classic, and a favorite in my studio. This stone is a delightful example of grand old material, with plenty of colofully varied figure, including patches of blue, pink and mauve, with hints of yellow and orange, as well as brecciated bits of confetti along one edge. Any odd lines are either totally and naturally healed or simply part of the pattern, so you just can't go wrong with this beauty; it definitely won't disappoint! The cab has a rounded dome of 5mm, a gracefully curved designer 'flame' shape, and a smooth glassy polish both front and back.
