Covellite cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon Christopher cut of covellite, a rare heavyweight metallic ore of copper from the Leonard mine near Butte, Montana. This very reflective stone features the classic deep, rich cobalt blue coloration, with subtle moire-like threads, and smatterings of shiny metallic pyrite. It also has a few hints of the very desireable rosy-fuschia flash, although that phenomenon is only visible at certain angles. In hand, you'll probably be astounded by the cab's hefty weight; it's amazingly heavy for its size. This one ought to make an outstanding heirloom piece of jewelry, no doubt, or a soon-to-be favorite in your collection of ultra-rarities. It has a well rounded dome of 6mm, a half round designer shape, and despite a few small natural voids, it took a brilliantly gleaming polish both front and back.
Size: 36x22mm
