Turquoise ~
Offered here is a cabochon of spiderweb turquoise, from China. This example has aqua blue coloration accentuated by subtle hints of olive green, set off by the jet black matrix forming the webs. No doubt this material has been stabilized by some hardening process, as is most modern turquoise, but I don't believe it has been subjected to artificial coloring of any kind. It polished like a dream, and will wear wonderfully, without changing over the years. The cab has a low rounded dome of 4mm, and a smooth glossy polish both front and back.
