Cherry Creek jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of material called Cherry Creek jasper, which hails from China. I'm told only relatively small quantities were brought to the U.S., so I feel fortunate to have snagged a small assortment of the very prettiest slabs available. This example has wild figure in olive greens with mottled orange blotches edged with cream. Several dark brown lines criss-crossing through the stone make the pattern appear almost spider webbed. Very artistic stuff, to say the least, and I think this one'll make an outstanding item of jewelry. The stone has a nicely rounded dome of 5mm, a whimsical designer shape, and a great glossy polish both front and back.
