Dinosaur bone cab ~
Offered here is a splendid cabochon of Utah's fossilized dinosaur bone, from Utah. This highly silicated material is many millions of years old, a marvelous example of the natural preservation of our earth's ancient, extinct 'thunder lizards'. Over millenia, the cells in this fossil bone have been replaced with BLOOD red agate, and many are fortified like tiny agate thundereggs. Some show colorful cores of lavender, or have hints of yellow, and one or two have sparkling quartz. Check out the enlarged photos to see the fascinating details. The dark brown cell walls form a contrasting lattice, forever frozen in time. It's an amazing piece of collectible dinosaur bone! The cab has a low rounded dome of 4.5mm, a sweet teardrop shape, and a smooth glassy polish both front and back.
