Dinosaur bone cab ~
Offered here is a large & splendid cabochon of Utah's fossilized dinosaur bone, from Utah. This highly silicated material is many millions of years old, a marvelous example of the natural preservation of our earth's ancient, extinct 'thunder lizards'. Over millenia, the cells in this fossil bone have been replaced with vivid crimson-orange agate, including a few that are fortified having bright yellow agate centers, like tiny agate thundereggs. Check out the enlarged photos to see the fascinating details. The black cell walls look almost sub-metallic, and form a sponge-like lattice framework, forever frozen in time. It's an extraordinary example of collectibly gemmy dinosaur bone! The monster-sized cab has a generously high and well rounded dome of 8mm, a fat designer 'drop' shape, and a smooth glassy polish both front and back. Truly a unique treasure that will command attention wherever it goes!
