Rainforest jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of Australia's rainforest 'jasper'. This material is actually a highly silicated rhyolite, easily hard enough so that it finishes quite nicely. This example features an attractive orbed pattern in avocado and deeper green shades, with several thundereggs embedded within. The largest of those are filled with pools of yellow opalite, and one contains a neat drusy pocket. The cab has a well rounded dome of 6mm, a whimsical designer shape, and a great glassy polish both front and back.
