Deschutes jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of Deschutes jasper, from Oregon. A treasured favorite in the celebrated family of porcelain jaspers, classic old material like this has become quite collectible and pricey these days, when one can find any to buy. This unique example features a scenic hilly pattern in richly contrasting earth tones of peachy tans and reddish browns, some edged with brownish-black. Looks like smoke signals coming from the tepee on the knoll! heh These contrasting earthy shades look magnificent in a setting of silver, though this jasper is certainly worthy of gold; the choice is yours! The cab has a well rounded dome of nearly 5mm, a designer 'bullet' shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
Size: 52x14mm
Weight: approximately 32 carats
