Bronzite cab ~
Offered here is a fascinating cabochon of golden bronzite, from Australia. This material is extra special because it is very well silicated, unlike other forms I have had to work with in the past. It's got plenty of sparkle, glittering in golden shades, and some areas also have a touch of translucence. I was surprised to see several patches of light green (chrysoprase??) at one side, as well as a streak at the bottom of the large end. Beautiful stuff, and quite unusual, the perfect start for a unique piece of jewelry. The cab has a high rounded dome of 6mm, and a surprisingly glossy polish both front and back.
