Mawsitsit cab ~
Offered here is a vivid cabochon of mawsitsit, from Myanmar (Northern Burma). Collectibly rare and very highly prized, this dazzling jadeite material owes its brilliant emerald coloration to the presence of chromium, and this stone is a fabulous example. It has the most wildly intense greens I've ever seen in any natural rock, with a swirling, almost velvety look. Some of the dark areas have a bit of chatoyance, while others are sub metallic. It's a simply outstanding treasure, sure to attract attention in any type of setting you can conjure up. The cab has a low rounded dome of 4.5mm, and a slick glassy polish both front and back. And it's a steal of a deal at well under $2 a carat!
