Botswana agate cab ~
Offered here is a dramatic cabochon of Botswana agate, from Africa. One of my long time favorite materials, I was delighted to have purchased a large cache of top notch slabs and nodules this past February. This classic example has manystrongly contrasting bands, and some white ones that are doubles. They frame a core of dusty rose, part of the very heart of the nodule. This stone exhibits a delightful degree of parallax, in that the bands seem to wiggle open and closed. It's a real keeper! The cab has a high rounded dome of 6mm, and a designer 'teardrop' shape, polished to a glassy brilliance both front and back.
