Dinosaur bone cab ~
Offered here is a splendid cabochon of Utah's fossilized dinosaur bone, from Utah. This highly silicated material is many millions of years old, a marvelous example of the natural preservation of our earth's ancient, extinct 'thunder lizards'. Over millenia, the cells in this fossil bone have been replaced with blood red agate, including a few that are fortified like tiny agate thundereggs. Check out the enlarged photos to see the fascinating details. The tan cell walls form a sponge-like lattice, forever frozen in time. It's an amazing example of collectibly gemmy RED dinosaur bone! The cab has a rounded dome of 5mm, a gracefully curved designer 'drop' shape, and a smooth glassy polish both front and back.
