Bird of paradise plume agate cab ~
Offered here is a splendid cabochon of bird of paradise plume agate, from old Mexico. This coveted form of flame agate is pretty scarce these days and I'm fairly certain it was all dug out long ago. It features plumes of red, orange, and yellow/orange with some mossy tendrils suspended in a warm translucent agate base. Happily, the tiny crystalline flecks in this special stone are beneath the polished surface, except for one drusy-lined vug on the back. Often, this type of agate is riddled with voids. The cab has a long designer 'flame' shape, a high rounded dome of 7mm, and a fine glassy finish both front and back.
Size: 64x19mm
