coprolite cab ~
Oferred here is a cabochon of coprolite, which is fossilized dinosaur dung, many millions of years old. Collected in Utah, there's no way of knowing what species of dinosaur excreted this, nor can I tell you what its diet consisted of, but this, uh, stuff is certainly amazingly colorful. Coprolites are often drab, but not this example. It has been completely replaced by agate, and now has shades of golden yellow, orange and white, with a crimson ribbon and clouds, showing a bit of translucence. The cab has a well rounded dome of 6mm, and it has a fine glassy polish both front and back.
Size: 43x25 mm
