Cherry Creek jasper cab ~
Offered here is a new material called Cherry Creek jasper, which hails from China. I'm told only a relatively small quantity was brought to the U.S., so I feel lucky to have cherry-picked some of the very prettiest slabs available. I've only cut a few cabs from this material, and it looks like a winner to me. In this largish example, the background is both a golden color with mango blushes between the webs, and interesting shades of blue. Some of the streaks and webbing are metallic, while the rest is either black or ochre. It certainly cuts artistic cabs, uniquely striking in their own way, and I think this one will make an outstanding item of jewelry. The stone has a high rounded dome of 6.5mm, a designer 'flame' shape, and a fine glossy polish both front and back.
