Botswana agate cab ~
Offered here is a dramatic cabochon of Botswana agate, from Africa. One of my long time favorite materials, I was delighted to have purchased a large cache of top notch slabs and nodules this past February. This classic example not only has strongly contrasting bands, but contains another floating fortification with rosy hues around its core. That was the heart of the nodule, and it exhibits an amazing degree of parallax, in that the bands seem to wiggle open and closed. It's a real keeper, and will be splendid in even the simplest of settings. The cab has a high rounded dome of 6mm, and a versatile designer shape, polished to a glassy brilliance both front and back.
