Apache jasper cab ~
Offered here is a scenic cabochon of Apache jasper, actually a rhyolite, also known as Mimbres Valley jasper since it's found there in New Mexico. This fabulous material just smacks of southwest flavor. And this example has a fine display of cactus-like figures against distant brushy hills, looking very much like the deserts of the legendary old west, in rich shades of maroon and dusty pink. The stone has a high rounded dome of 6mm, and a fine glossy polish both front and back.
