Agua Nueva agate cab ~
Offered here is a beautifully busy cabochon of Agua Nueva agate, from Mexico. I often find that I favor this material even more than its long prized and famous cousin, Laguna agate, found nearby. This boldly marked example features orange and pink bands zig zagging around a translucent pool that contains tubes, and a few thin tendrils of moss. Interestingly, a close look reveals several tiny white dots, which characterizes many collectible Mexican agates. There are also sparkling crystalline areas and a large bullseye at one side for extra added character. The cab has a low but nicely rounded dome, a versatile designer 'spear' shape, and a super glassy polish both front and back.
