Chrysoprase cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of chrysoprase from a newly discovered find near Yerilla, Australia, cut by my son Christopher. Like the old Marlboro material, it's a gemmy chalcedony colored by the presence of nickel in beautifully bright minty greens that positively GLOW. Chris' example has puffy clouds of lime green threaded with darker green translucent webs that add much to the visual interest and character. There are a few bits of brown matrix on the backside, along with a couple of natural voids, which shouldn't pose any problem. The cab has a high rounded dome of 5+mm, a bold designer shape that's sure to help get your creative juices flowing, and a super glassy polish both front and back.
